Post Gets New Comment System, Goes After Trolls

The future?
The Post is trying to rein in their vicious, racist commentariat, with a new layout for comments and a new set of policies. Among them:
• Be more aggressive in banning users who don’t regularly post quality comments as well as those with a high percentage of deleted comments.
• Delete all comments that direct name-calling and insults at other commenters.
• Add words to our list of terms that call for automatic deletion of a comment.
• Be more aggressive in our efforts to eliminate “trolling” — generally defined as posting comments that serve more to incite emotional responses and disrupt conversations.
The Post’s Jon DeNunzio writes that more Post staffers will start posting in comment threads, too. Good luck getting that lot on board with commenting! Some of them are just finishing up Twitter training.
The internet curves towards horribleness, but the new commenting policies can’t help but succeed at least a little, given how offensive/uninteresting the Post’s comment sections typically are now.
