City Paper for Sale, 5 Percent Pay Cut, Some Staff Moved to Part-Time
Update: City Paper publisher Amy Austin writes in an email that only one staffer on the business side, City Paper’s circulation manager, has been moved to part-time.
Update: Creative Loafing Atlanta got a deep cut, losing four staffers, including a managing editor.
Staff pay at all three Creative Loafing papers, including City Paper, has been cut by 5 percent, according to a blog post on the weekly’s site. City Paper publisher Amy Austin told staff at a meeting Wednesday that the pay cuts will “stabilize” the company.
While there are no planned layoffs at City Paper right now, according to City Paper, some staff has been moved to part-time.
Poynter has the company-wide memo on the job cuts and pay reductions. According to Poynter’s Andrew Beaujon, Austin told staff she is looking for a buyer for City Paper.
