Post Guild: 4 Staffers Change Minds, Reject Buyout
Four Post staffers who accepted the buyout changed their minds, according to the Post Guild, according to Richard Prince. April 23 was the deadline for backing out of the buyout.
Also in Prince’s story: Metro crime and public safety reporter Theola Labbé-DeBose has taken the buyout. She’s headed to the D.C. Public Charter School Board, where she’ll be director of communications.
At City Paper, Shani Hilton points out, according to Prince’s reporting, at least 25 percent of the Post employees who took the buyout are minorities. Meanwhile, the recession in newspapers continues to hit minority staffers harder nationally, Hilton writes.
