Post Criticized for Kaplan’s ALEC Connections
Kaplan has dropped out of rightwing policy shop ALEC, but former Foreign Policy reporter Suzanne Merkelson at Republic Report wonders why the Post didn’t disclose Kaplan’s support for ALEC in previous stories that mentioned the group.
This is a tricky one, since you can hardly expect Post reporters to know what organizations are supported by separate subsidiaries of the Washington Post Co. The requirement to disclose would be higher if the Post ed board had been writing about ALEC, I think.
